A random note to Mr. Yuto Nakajima

I have finally had time to watch the Gyoretsuno dekiru horitsu sodanjo episode on 13th December 2015, with Yuto and Soda.
Obviously they were on the show promoting their new movie, Pink and Grey (which I have finally read the book AND the manga, but I’ll talk about that some other time).

The topic for that episode and the lowest point of their career.

The first time I watched Yuto on TV was in Shounen Club, when KAT-TUN was hosting it. The next thing I know he’s the adorable little brother of Kamenashi in Nobuta wo. Produce. He’s got a cute little chubby face and an adorable smile and all I wanted it to hug him.
It was obvious that he’s one of the new favourite in Johnny’s Junior; you can see him nearly in every episode of Shounen Club, and he was singing and dancing with his little group called J.J.Express.

And when Hey! Say! Seven (original Hey! say! Seven) came along with him in the centre, his two best friends Chinen and Yamada, and two older boys from J.J. Express, I thought ‘that’s it, he’s going to make it big’.
Then Hey! Say! Jump came along. I really liked them.

Yuto mentioned that his lowest point of his career was when the second single for Hey! Say! Jump (Dreams come True) when he isn’t standing in the centre – he debuted as the centre of the group and he was the focus of the group.
Groups for the matter.
Slowly Yamada became the centre of the group with Chinen.
The number of jobs he was getting started to decrease, and Yamada and chinen both had a lot more to do than he did.
He was 15.
A 15-year-old should not have to go through something like that, especially when the competition is your best friend.
He was in a drama with Yamada, Chinen and Dai-chan (who is not in Seven but is always with Seven).
The focus was supposed to be on all four of them, but the focus ended up on Yamada.
And when he finally gotten his break again, he played a character that is jealous of the main character who is popular in school – the main character is played by Yamada.
How fucked up is that?

Yuto said he and Yamada would fight a lot, and they were best friend, and they drifted apart. It was only after a while they talked about it and realised how stupid they have been.
Teenage boys.

Something great came out of the low time. His talents are all developed during his low point. His drumming skills and his love for camera.

And he wrote “DASH!”.
Here’s the translation of the lyrics I found online

“DASH!” showed him coming out of his low point. He mentioned he remembered one of the things that Johnny-san said to him when he was a Junior: “Don’t fall to the level of those people, and always do your best” when there were obvious other Juniors judging him and was jealous of him.

Yuto obviously has gotten out of the low point; he’s now 22, tall and absolutely gorgeous (he’s handsome rather than beautiful – he looks like a real man unless most of the Johnny’s boys) and massively talented. He can dance and he can sing, he’s constantly featured in Fine Boys and he’s been picked to be the main character of the movie Pink and grey, who is written by none other than the talented Kato Shigeaki, someone who is from the same management company as he is, and the first person from the management company who has become an author.

I want to make a point here as well that I adore Yamada as well, and nearly as much as I adore Yuto. He was the little kid that sing and dance to Seishun Amigo with Yuto on Shounen Club. I love Kindaichi Hajime, and though he is not a very Kindaichi Hajime and he’s nothing like what the manga is like (Tsuyoshi is the closest and the best), he is a good actor. And he sings and dances well. And he always tries his best. I respect that.

Either way, both of them are going to go far this year.
Yuto is going to be massive of course, he’s already got lots lined up and it’s only January and he’s already done so much.
Hey! Say! Jump is going to go further than before too.

I just want to say how proud I am of Yuto. He bounced back from the low point and be even better and more talented than before. He realised things will not be handed to him on a silver plate and one day the spoon feeding will stop, but he’s special no matter what. Things might have seemed grey and his life at one point might have seemed like it’s going backwards, but he stick through the tough part, and now he’s even better than before. I totally feel for him, and hearing the full story of those horrific years from his mouth, it explained those frowns and the quietness during those times. Even in Suikyu I thought there seemed like there’s something wrong, but my Yuto is back.
Despite the fact that he’s now grown about a whole foot and a half and has become a real man, he’s still the little kid that I adore and feel for, over 10 years ago.
