What song would you like to play for your recession?

The obvious choice is Pachelbel’s Canon in D.
It’s one of those that plays all the time in wedding.
It’s nearly as famous as Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.
And you kinda think “THAT’S A WEDDING” when you hear one (or both) of them in a wedding.

But if I am going to choose all the music for my wedding, like I mentioned yesterday, I’d have I Do (Cherish You) for walking down the aisle.
For recession, there were so many choices.

Marry You by Bruno Mars.
Marry Me by Train.
All you need is Love by The Beatles.
Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles.
(I can name a lot of songs by the Beatles, actually, that would fit the situation)
I thought about Somewhere only We know because when Kurt went back to McKinley and the Warblers were sending him off, Blaine sang it with a piano at the courtyard.
And Darren Criss has one of those voices that you just cannot fault.
I am not saying the original isn’t good, but it’s Darren Criss (I have said it before as well).

However.
I remembered a song that I heard as a kid.
Back in the nineties.
It was a theme song of a Japanese drama.
I have no idea who sang it before and I have no idea who they are.
I got a music box with the chorus of the song as a kid.
Eventually when I got older, I found out who sang (and wrote) the songs.

Chage and Aska.
The song is called Say yes.
Typical name, I know.
The song s more about a marriage proposal more than a wedding, but to me it’s a wedding song.
Obviously I didn’t know what the lyrics meant for a while (That seems to be a theme of all the songs that I listen to hahaha), but when I eventually did, it’s a song that really moves me.
It’s weird, because listening to this song gives me the same feeling (as a kid) when I listen to “Goodbye” by Air Supply, which of course, was one of the earlier songs that I wrote about when I first started this 30 Days Music Challenge.

What song would you like to walk down the aisle?

First song I heard by 98 Degrees is True to your Heart, one of the songs from Disney’s Mulan soundtrack.
The second song I heard by 98 Degrees is I do (Cherish You) which had a wedding theme music video and from then every time I heard the words “walk down the aisle”, that song just comes to my head.

Funny enough I was on Sugarscape (where else) earlier and there was a post about “Which One Direction ballad should you walk down the aisle to”, and after taking the quiz, apparently I should be going down the aisle to “Act My Age”.

capture
I love that damn song.
Unfortunately it doesn’t fit in any of the answers for my 30 Days Music Challenge.

I Do (Cherish You) has those really horrible cheesy lines that makes your heart melt and gives you goosebumps (in a bad way) at the same time.

From the first verse:

When you smile I can feel all my passion unfolding

To the second verse:

How you opened my life to a new paradise

And don’t forget the chorus:

From the depths of my soul, it’s beyond my control

When I was younger (like 20 years ago), I really think it’s beautifully romantic.
Now? It is still beautifully romantic, if you are with the right person.
It doesn’t stop me from laughing when I hear the song when it’s not at the right time and place.

If I ever did walk down the aisle to this song, let’s just hope that I won’t be laughing too hard and trip over my own dress.

(step kick step kick – not step cake step cake)
